As your productions grow in size and complexity, so do the monitoring needs and signal flow between all devices. Ohio HD's VTR service makes this easy. Our system is completely scaleable to the needs and size of the production and location.
Shooting interiors in a small house? No problem. The system, in its simplest form, lives in a briefcase-sized Pelican case that can fit in even the tightest of locations. Are you running a large-scale production with client presence, director's monitor, AC monitor, and location changes? Easy. When built out as a more comprehensive package, the flexibility, capabilities, efficiency, and portability of both the system and Video Assist Technician increase exponentially.
Additionally, we can provide fully wireless video solutions, personal wireless audio monitoring, monitors of all sizes, and even pop-up tents, director's chairs, coolers, and a variety of other production tools to make video village as comfortable as possible.
At the heart of our VTR system is QTAKE HDx2 software paired with AJA IoXT and QOD+ hardware. This IO allows for two SDI signals to be fed simultaneously into QTAKE for capture and monitor routing. The software can record both of these signals at the same time, providing a great solution for 2-camera shoots. Playback from either signal is available instantly, and can be played back either synced or independently of one another. Due to the powerful routing of the Blackmagic Smart Videohub, up to 12 signals can be distributed to any combination of 12 monitors. Clients can watch playback of the last take while the director frames up the next shot.
On productions where camera moves, talent marks, or product and prop placement need to be both consistently accurate and repeatable, QTAKE makes it a breeze. With the routing and compositing capabilities of QTAKE you can overlay your live feed overtop of previous takes to confirm everything is lining up properly. Alternatively, QTAKE can output your live feed and previous takes as a side-by-side view. These capabilities are available to as many or as few monitors on set as you wish.
The capabilities and power of QTAKE go much further than playback review, monitor management, and continuity confirmation. This system provides real-time live compositing. Green-screen shoots can be difficult to conceptualize on set if there are camera or talent moves, or if you need to match lighting to the background plate. QTAKE gives you the ability to insert a video or still-frame plate underneath your keyed subject, to give you real-time preview of the composite. Knowing that you won't need to "fix it in post" can save you from headaches, and money...
