About the internship

OHD Studios is comprised of a high-energy team of professionals who produce work at the highest level of our production community. For us, production isn’t a hobby; we’re passionate about creating beautiful, highly relevant projects with meaningful impact for our clients.

This internship position is special in that it’s not limited to typical camera, audio, and lighting criteria. Other disciplines are highly encouraged, as OHD is continuously evolving and growing in our service offerings. The internship aims to provide a good baseline of what corporate and commercial production is all about, but also dive deeper into specific areas of interest for both the intern and OHD. Part of the role will include job-shadowing various OHD team members, but you will also be asked to take on projects, tasks, and responsibilities yourself.

We will be scheduling interviews February 2024. The initial interviews will be online via Google Meet in 30 minute windows which you can schedule online using the link at the end of the application form. If you are not available during the times listed, please let us know and we can work to arrange an alternate time.

If you are selected as a finalist, you will be invited to a personal interview with the 2024 intern selection team.

Now that I am developing my skills even further they are more than willing to maintain our relationship and enable my creativity. "Ohio HD afforded me an understanding of production equipment, lighting setups, and cameras at an industry level. Through working with their equipment rentals, I received first-hand experience handling high-end production cameras, including RED, ARRI and Phantom systems. I was also able to learn the industry set-terms and lingo for G&E, as well as more specific information on 3-phase power and rigging safety on set. The team at Ohio HD is knowledgeable in all fields from business operations, management, to audio/video/VR and Post-Production services and they shaped my internship to meet my learning objectives. "I look back at my time as an intern for Ohio HD as the most beneficial experience I could have had as student of video/media production. Throughout my summer there, I had the opportunity to practice with their vast collection of industry standard equipment that I never would have had access to in school. My fellow interns and I worked on many different assignments together. We grew very close as a group and remain in contact to this day. Some of our tasks could have been: filming original videos, researching different pieces of equipment, studio upkeep, entering film contests and even going on professional shoots. The Ohio HD staff are all working professionals in this field who acted as mentors to the interns. They were very eager to see us succeed and more than willing to help us through any obstacles we faced. By the end of our time there, the interns all agreed that we wish we could have stayed even longer.

Their internship program helped solidify my passion for cinematography and granted me a strong foundation that I still draw from today. The Ohio HD internship program offered me the knowledge and experience to succeed within the film production industry. Hi! I am Cidney! I interned at Ohio HD during the summer of 2021! I am so grateful for the opportunity because I was able to gain video production experience that I never would have been able to get at school. I believe the best way to learn anything is to get hands-on experience. You definitely will have the chance to do that when you intern at Ohio HD. Whether that is “playing” with equipment, editing a video or being on set. Don’t worry about your experience level, because everyone is so willing to answer your questions and help you when you are struggling.

Joining the OhioHD internship program was one of the best academic/career decisions I've ever made. For me, simply being around the tools that they have and the knowledge of the people that work there possess was worth its weight in gold. Getting a chance to explore and get hands-on experience with professional-level gear that I would be using in the field was also super helpful. The gear I had access to at school was limited, so getting to see what the pros are using really helped me understand what I would eventually be dealing with. On top of that, I got to get onto professional level sets while I was an intern. I feel like getting to get my feet wet being a PA under OhioHD prepared me for future shoots I would be a part of. Personally, getting to see the workflow and how focused everyone is on a professional set was something that my schooling just couldn't offer. I would certainly push anyone student that would like to get a glimpse into what the real industry is like to apply for the internship.
